RECAP has been serving Orange County’s most vulnerable residents for over 50 years. RECAP provides programs and services to help people who live in poverty in Orange County New York and the surrounding areas. RECAP works with our community’s most vulnerable populations including seniors, children, veterans, the homeless and the hungry, those living with HIV/AIDS, victims of domestic violence, people battling substance use disorder and anyone struggling to make ends meet. RECAP provides housing, Head Start, Energy Services, Workforce Development and Training, Residential and Non-Residential Addiction Support Services, Fresh Start Cafe and Parole Re-Entry. Construction Development A range of community improvement efforts focusing on Orange Counties housing needs. Energy Conservation Helping residents reduce energy costs and improve the safety of their homes through repair, modification or replacements of home elements. Orange County Fuel Fund Part of RECAP’s Energy Initiatives Program, the Orange County Fuel Fund provides payments to home heating providers to help families overcome short-term financial hardships. Head Start Comprehensive early learning for children age 3-5 in Middletown, Scotchtown and Port Jervis. Mill Street Cafe Job readiness training for long-term welfare recipients in restaurants serving the public. Support Services Services to assist and rehabilitate those in the community SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TREATMENT An OASAS-licensed centers specializing in chemical dependency treatment. A diverse pool of volunteers makes for a rich experience and helps RECAP generate awareness about community action while reaching people who need our services. Volunteering is a great way for businesses to team build and an avenue for seniors to share knowledge. Our volunteers have the opportunity to participate in educational and community outreach events as well.
